As you may well have been able to work out just from its name, WinPad is a text editor. It is the ideal substitute for the Windows Notepad.

WinPad has a simple interface but could be really useful for its characteristics in formatting text, for example: you can choose left, centre or right page alignment, it has options to underline or cross out words, you can write subscript or postscript, you can change the text colour and the background colour, there is a utility to change between capitals and lower case, you can insert images into documents, etc.
